Shipping And Delivery

MAKING SURE MY PUPPIES FIND LOVING AND CARING HOMES

How is a Puppy Shipped?

  1. Shipping Process
Shipping a puppy is accessible globally, with costs varying by location. The shipping fee typically includes a veterinarian’s health certificate, a puppy care package, a pet taxi (shipping crate), and air travel. The care package contains familiar puppy food and care instructions. Delivery usually involves counter-to-counter service, and puppies are transported in a climate-controlled, pressurized compartment.

  2. Specialized Ground Service
Alternatively, you can opt for a specialized ground service that delivers puppies directly to your home across the contiguous United States. This option tends to be more expensive and varies in price based on distance and location.

Is Shipping Safe for the Puppy?

Although it may seem harsh to ship a puppy alone, it is generally safe and often the best option. Airlines prioritize the well-being of the puppies to avoid lawsuits and maintain customer satisfaction. From my experience, puppies are well cared for during transit.

Puppies receive food throughout the journey, and we place frozen water in their crates to gradually thaw. We also attach food and feeding instructions to the top of the crate. Flights typically last between one to seven hours, and I keep track of any delays or layovers, providing updates on flight times and departures. Usually, puppies arrive on the same day, just a few hours after being delivered. Each crate includes a chew toy and a comfortable bed made of shredded newspapers.

What About Winter Shipping? Is it Too Cold?

We guarantee safe delivery of your puppy even in winter. According to AA guidelines, puppies can be safely transported in temperatures ranging from 20 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit. The cabin of the plane is maintained at a comfortable 70 degrees for both passengers and puppies. Puppies are the first to board and the last to exit the flight. Shipping during winter is safe, similar to visiting friends and family during the holidays.

However, airlines may enforce strict temperature regulations at departure and arrival locations for their liability and safety. They may also avoid shipping in extreme heat during summer, opting for the best delivery days or scheduling flights during cooler hours.

Can I Travel to Pick Up My Puppy?

Yes, you are welcome to pick up your puppy in person after purchase. Most airlines don’t charge extra for bringing a puppy along, although some may have additional fees.

Do I Need Vaccines for My Puppy Upon Arrival?

It’s best to avoid vaccinating your new puppy within the first 14 days after arrival. Your puppy should have received all necessary vaccinations before leaving, and no further shots are required for several weeks. Some veterinarians may try to recommend additional vaccinations during your first visit, but it’s advisable to let the puppy adjust to their new environment before any further immunizations.

However, you should take your puppy for a general examination by a veterinarian within 48 hours of arrival. If any health issues arise, we will either replace your puppy or refund your money if no replacements are available.
